Beginning with the stunning “Comparenda”, which has been remixed several times some odd 20 years after, the music moves on to “Drops”, a slow intimate Jazz where Dave Tofani on sax soprano excels. “Theme For Ginevra” with its exquisite complex theme lead by Tofani’s flute, ends side A on a slow melancholic vibe, despite the Latin rhythmic charge towards the end of the piece
More amazing music with moving harmonies and rhythmic power on “Lazer’s Theme” where Tofani’s tenor sax is king once again. A joyous theme in full be-bop swing is in the shape of “You Caught Me” with Di Marco’s possibly best solo on piano in the album.
Last but not least the project terminates its touching journey in Jazz sounds with “Hollywood Fade”.

Santucci Scoppa are the old-skool kings of Italian Jazz. The trumpet and tenor players Cicci Santucci and Enzo Scoppa led the group.
Having been playing together since the late 60’s they are the most iconic duo that the Italian collector jazz scene has seen ever.
Their album On The Underground Round was a milestone in the European jazz-funk collectors’ movement. That is an excellent hard bop session recorded in Italy in the early 70's. The whole thing grooves along with a sound that's similar to the late 60's recordings on Blue Note.
Besides this one, some of the most interesting albums from the 70’s were featuring the mighty duo: from Kenny Clark’s ‘Jazz A Confronto’ on Horo, to the super rare ‘ Chet is Back ‘ by Chet Baker (long time friend during his Roman years).
With Horo’s label boss Aldo Sinesio, Santucci Scoppa recorded two incredible sound-library LP (Looking Around & Mondo Operaio) that many times have been championed by DJs like Gilles Peterson & Big Bang, and are extremely sought after by DJs worldwide.

With Technology as main theme, several tracks present industrial rhythms and minimal slow patterns. Synths-galore and obsessive basslines make of this album something like a trip through space in an era of first electronic evolution. Past the starting instrumentals of “Superpotenza” the album following tracks are like the exploration of a new galaxy conducted by a monitoring satellite. Themes as “Forza Motrice” and “Lavoro Veloce” are like out of a prehistoric videogame. Others like “Silicosi” and “Pressione” sound as petrifying as Horror movies’ scores…Amazing stuff !!
